Public Works Director Jim Kelly reviewed a contract with Tenelco, Inc. Biosolids are generated during the process of wastewater at the City's Water Reclamation Facility. The City contracts with a Department of Ecology (DOE) licensed contractor for the hauling and land application of biosolids. The City has been under contract with Tenelco for hauling services since 2016. The current Tenelco contract is set to expire in 2023, so the City issued a Request for Proposals for biosolids transportation and beneficial use. Though several contractors attended the pre -bid meeting and site tour, only one proposal was received. The one proposal received was from Tenelco, Inc. Tenelco meets all of the requirements contained in the RFP, is properly licensed with the DOE, and is the City's current biosolids contractor.
