AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARLINGTON,
WASHINGTON AMENDING SECTION 2.40.030 OF THE
ARLINGTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO MEETING
TIME OF THE BOARD OF PARKS, ARTS, AND
RECREATION COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, the City of Arlington, Washington has the authority to adopt ordinances for
the general welfare of its citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commissioners wishes to update
the ordinance governing the Commission; and
WHEREAS, the City Board of Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commissioners considered
this amendment at February and March 2013 public meeting and the City Council considered
their recommendations at their workshop on May 13, 2013, and determined approving the
amendment was in the best interest of the City and its citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arlington, Washington does hereby
ordain as follows:
Section 1. Arlington Municipal Code section 2.40.030 is amended to read as follows:
2.40.030 - Meetings.
Regular meetings of the Arlington Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commission will be held
on the fourth Tuesday of each month at six p.m., in the Arlington City Council
Chambers, 110 E. 3rd St, Arlington, Washington; provided, however, that whenever such
regular meeting day falls on a Tuesday declared in RCW 1.16.050 now or in the future as
a legal holiday, then the regular meeting of the commission will be held on the following
Tuesday at six p.m.
Section 2. Severability. If any such provision, section, or part of this ordinance
shall be adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity
of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or
unconstitutional.

Section 3. Effective Date. A summary of this Ordinance consisting of its title
shall be published in the official newspaper of the City, and shall take effect and be in full force
five (5) days after the date of publication.

SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE ADOPTION
You are hereby notified that on May 20, 2013, the City Council of the City of Arlington,
Washington, did adopt Ordinance No. 2013-006 entitled,
"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ARLINGTON,
WASHINGTON AMENDING SECTION 2.40.030 OF THE
ARLINGTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO MEETING
TIME OF THE BOARD OF PARKS, ARTS, AND
RECREATION COMMISSIONERS"
This ordinance is effective five days from its passage and publication.
The full text of the ordinance is available to interested persons and will be mailed upon
request.
