AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF ARLINGTON A PORTION OF
SECTIONS 1 AND 2 OF TOWNSHIP 31 NORTH,
RANGE 5 EAST, W.M., SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WASHINGTON,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE COUNTRY CHARM ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arlington, Washington, had requested that
certain property be annexed to the City; and
WHEREAS, the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board reviewed the annexation at
the request of Snohomish County; and
WHEREAS, the Boundary Review Board conducted a public hearing on June 26, 2013,
and thereafter voted on July 9, 2013 to approve the annexation; and
WHEREAS, more than 30 days have elapsed since the date of the Boundary Review
Board hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arlington does hereby ordain as
follows:
Section 1. The following described property be and it is hereby annexed to and included
within the corporate limits of the City of Arlington, Snohomish County, State of Washington:
See legal description attached hereto as Exhibit "A",
said property to be assessed and taxed at the same general rate and on the same general basis as
the property in the City of Arlington is assessed and taxed to pay for any presently outstanding
indebtedness of the City of Arlington which has been contracted prior hereto, or exists at, the
date of this annexation.
Section 2. The properties shall have the Comprehensive Plan land use and zoning
designations of Public/SemiPublic, High Density Residential, Neighborhood Commercial and
Old Town Business District 3 as shown on Exhibit "B" (map of annexing area).
Section 3. The resident population of the annexed area shall be determined by, or under
the direction of the Mayor, and the certificate shall be submitted, all in accordance with RCW
35A.14.700; the City Clerk shall submit five certified copies of this ordinance to the County
Council of Snohomish County, through the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board; the
City Clerk shall submit a certified copy of this ordinance to the Washington Survey and Rating

Bureau; and the City Clerk shall take such other action as is required by law as a result of this
annexation.
Section 4. If any provision, section, or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged to be
invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a
whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be effective five days after its passage and publication as
required by law.
PASSED by the City Council and APPROVED by the Mayor, at a regular meeting of the
City Council on the day of August, 2013.
