Dear Planning Commission,
I've had trouble contacting your office. Letters I sent were returned to sender. It seems meetings are the best way to communicate with you all.
Now I hear you are planning to change your rules and procedures. Most of the changes seem to be designed to minimize public comment. If so,
it concerns me that you are against public comment. I realize it would make your job easier if you didn't have to listen to other opinions, but
working for and with the community is a key part of yourjob. I do understand wanting people to be respectful, but there are important topics at
hand, and sometimes people get upset or excited. As long as they aren't violent orjust spewing constant lines of curse words, you should be
accepting. Understand that the more upset people are,the more important the issue. Just shutting down concerned citizens or kicking them out
isn't the answer,in fact that will create more distrust and anger. People want to be heard. People want to have their concerns addressed and
considered. People are researching and have found both facts and some falsehoods, and BOTH should be listened to and addressed. just
punting people because you disagree with them is not the answer. You are all grown adults. You can handle a few pointed words and then strive
to understand the concerns of the other people who live here. Work with them, not against them.
Remember,secrecy breeds distrust.
Thank-you for your time.
