Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product data and installation instructions for each material and product used. 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Comply with governing codes and regulations. Provide products of acceptable manufacturers which have been in satisfactory use in similar service for three years. Use experienced installers. Deliver, handle, and store materials in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. B. Standards: ANSIA250.8/SDI-100, Recommended Specifications for Standard Steel Doors and Frames. C. Performance Standards: 1. Fire-Rated Assemblies: NFPA 80, and acceptable testing agency listing. 2. Thermal-Rated Assemblies at Exterior: ASTM C 236. 3. Door rating to be attached to door and frame. 1.4 SUSTAINABLE DESIGN REQUIREMENTS A. USGBC LEED Certification: Comply with Section 011050 - LEED Requirements, Section 013350 -LEED Submittals. Fabricate work to be rigid, neat and free from seams, defects, dents, warp, buckle, and exposed fasteners. Install doors and frames in compliance with SDI-100,NFPA 80, ANSVICC A117.1 and requirements of authorities having jurisdiction. B. Provide thermally improved doors with maximum U-value of 0.24 BTU/hr./sq. ft. degree F (ASTM C 236) for all exterior doors and elsewhere as noted. C. Hardware: Prepare doors and frames to receive hardware on final schedule. Provide for 3 silencers on single door frames; 2 on double door frames. D. Shop Finish: Clean,treat and prime paint all work with rust-inhibiting primer comparable with finish paint specified in Division 9 section. Provide asphalt emulsion sound deadening coating on concealed frame interiors. E. Touch-up damaged coatings and leave ready to receive finish painting. Interior and exterior door hardware. 1.2 SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: Submit manufacturer's product data and installation instructions for each material and product used. B. Samples: Submit two representative samples of each material specified indicating visual characteristics and finish. Include range samples if variation of finish is anticipated. C. Schedule: Submit for approval hardware schedule proposed for use based on Owner's requirements and specified requirements D. Operation and Maintenance Data: Submit manufacturers' operation and maintenance data, including list of spare parts and special tools. Provide one full set of maintenance tools. 1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. Comply with governing codes and regulations. Provide products of acceptable manufacturers which have been in satisfactory use in similar service for three years. Use experienced installers. Provide hardware for fire rated doors in compliance with NFPA 80, which has been UL listed and labeled with applicable fire rating. 2.2 HINGES A. Acceptable Manufacturers: Hager Companies, Lawrence Brothers, Inc., Assa Abloy McKinney Products, and Stanley Hardware Div. of The Stanley Works. B. Provide template produced hinges complying with ANSIBHMA A156.1. C. Pins: Steel for steel hinges and stainless steel for non-ferrous hinges; non-removable pins for exterior doors and non-rising pins for interior doors. D. Tips: Flat button and matching plug, finished to match leaves. E. Material and Finish: Satin stainless steel [satin chromium plated ANSI A156.18; Finish Code 630 or 626]. F. Hinges Per Door: 3 hinges for doors 90 inches or less in height and one additional hinge for each 30 inches of additional height. G. Butt Hinges: Full mortised, 4-1/2 inches x 4-1/2 inches; standard weight ball bearing or plain bearing as indicated in hardware schedule. 2.3 LOCKS AND LOCK TRIM A. Acceptable Manufacturers: Best Access Systems, Corbin/Russwin Architectural Hardware, Yale/Locks and Hardware, and Sargent Manufacturing Co., Insta-Key. B. Provide bored (cylindrical) locks and lever handled lock trim complying with ANSI A 156.2. C. Provide mortise locks and lever handled lock trim complying with ANSI A156.13. D. Equip mortise locks with cylinders to receive "Fig. 8" interchangeable, 6 pin tumbler cores by Best. E. Equip keyed bored (cylindrical) locks with lever handles to receive "Fig. 8" interchangeable, 6 pin tumbler cores by Best. F. Furnish keyed locks with removable "Fig. 8" construction cores and keys by Best. G. Lock Cylinders: One piece design, machined from extruded brass or bronze rod; symmetrical lugging with angular set screw grooves; concealed set screw for securing cylinder to lockset, accessible only with core removal; satin stainless steel H. Provide lever extension flush bolts complying with ANSI A156.16, and designed such that bolt head is projected or withdrawn manually by finger operation of lever. C. Bolt Head: Minimum 1/2 inch diameter rod, 12 inches long. D. Material and Finish: satin stainless steel satin chromium plated(ANSI A156.18; Finish Code 630 or 626). E. Flush Bolts Per Door: 2, one at top and one at bottom. 2.5 EXIT DEVICES A. Acceptable Manufacturers: Corbin/Russwin Architectural Hardware, Precision Hardware Inc., and Sargent Manufacturing Co. B. Material and Finish: Satin stainless steel, Code 630. 2.6 DOOR CLOSERS A. Acceptable Manufacturers: LCN Division of Ingersoll-Rand Architectural Hardware, Sargent Manufacturing Co., and Yale Locks and Hardware. B. Provide door closers complying with ANSI A156.4 modern type, Grade 1 with full plastic cover, adjustable spring power at least 50 percent over minimum value, adjustable hydraulic backcheck, delayed action device, and separate valves for control of latch and sweep speeds, so that from an open position of 70 degrees, the door will take at least 3 seconds to move to a point 3 in from the latch, measured from the leading edge of the door. C. Provide integral cushioned stop with closer arms specified for exterior standard steel doors. D. Mounting: Surface mounted, parallel arm unless otherwise indicated. E. Size closer units in compliance with manufacturer's recommendations for maximum door width for interior or exterior doors, as applicable. Size parallel arm units one size larger than recommended for use with standard arms. F. Do not allow butt-to-butt joints and joints that do not fall over framing members. D. Where new partitions meet existing construction, remove existing cornerbeads to provide a smooth transition. E. Provide insulation full height and thickness. F. Provide acoustical sealant at both faces at top and bottom runner tracks, wall perimeters, openings, expansion and control joints. G. Install trim and 3-coat joint treatment in strict compliance with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations. Joint treatment is required at all fasteners and edges between boards.
