Here's some information you need to know Is the tree significant or non-significant? • A significant coniferz has a diameter of 12"or greater at 4'6"above grade Diameter • A significant deciduous'has a diameter of 8" or greater at 4' 6"above grade A B Significant Tree Information • If a significant tree meets the following criteria:dangerous,hazardous,diseased,or causing structural damage,it may be removed pending approval from the City.The replacement or mitigation is a 1:1 ratio. A report from a certified arborist may be required. • If a significant tree does not meet the criteria above,it may be removed pending approval from the City.The replacement or mitigation is a 3:1 ratio in this case. • Heritage trees may not be removed. • If you think your tree is significant and qualifies for removal,complete the Tree Evaluation Application • Removal of a significant tree is in violation of AMC 20.28.040A and may result in a misdemeanor,up to $1000 fine,and up to 90 days in prison,per violation.
