(TRK). Determine if existing structure is adequate to support the proposed loading conditions and provide recommendations for structural modification if needed to meet current code requirements. This Structural Analysis Report for the proposed Sprint Network Vision MMBS equipment is inclusive of the entire equipment support structure (i.e. antenna/equipment mounting and support frames) and the existing building structures support system in the affected areas where the installations occur. This analysis is based on the specific assumptions and conditions as stated within the following report. The following results also consider the "during" equipment configurations, as shown in the corresponding architectural drawings. ADDITIONAL DESIGN CRITERIA: The structure has been evaluated in accordance with the current 2010 California Building Code and ASCE7-05 with the following design criteria: • 85 mph wind loading, Exp. C, KZt=1.0 • Seismic Design Category D, Occupancy Category II • Roof live load = 20psf • Soil Bearing Pressure = 1,500psf min. The attached calculations and loading analysis was used to determine the structural results noted above.The structure has been evaluated in accordance with the current 2010 California Building Code and ASCE7-05. RECEII/EMM OCT 11 2012 COA PMT 3 a3vi _13P ANTENNA LOADING SPECIFICATIONS: Additional load is added to the existing sled frame. The additional appurtenance loading is minor and the existing antenna mounts, supporting sled frame, and roof framing are adequate. Please refer to the attached appurtenances calculator for further information. EQUIPMENT CABINET LOADING SPECIFICATIONS: Minimal additional Cabinet load is being added to the existing steel platform and supporting slab on grade foundation. The new and replacement equipment cabinet loading is comparable to the original loading,therefore, the existing supporting steel platform and slab on grade foundation are adequate for all loading conditions. Please refer to the attached equipment cabinet calculator and new cabinet anchorage calculations for further information. New equipment cabinet anchorage to existing steel frame to be minimum%2" diameter A307 galvanized steel bolts at each cabinet corner w/ 1.25" min. edge distance, unless otherwise noted on architectural/structural drawings. Additional bolted steel clip angles may be required to align new bolt locations with supporting frame. REFERENCED DOCUMENTS AND DATA FOR EXISTING SUPPORT STRUCTURE: The existing structure has been evaluated based on visual inspection and documents provided by Sprint and PTS. The following documents were reviewed during our evaluation, inspection, and analysis: • SE03XC229 Final 90%CD Redlines from GD-8.1.12 (Vinculums) • SE03XC229_AS-BUILTS—2.13.07 (JES) • SE03XC229 Structurals—4.17.96 (URS) • SE03XC229_Pro pose d_Site_Drawings—4.22.12 (Vinculums) • SE03XC229—Photos SM 5-19-12 Based on review of the above referenced plans and visual inspection of the site photos we have documented the current structural support framing as follows: • ASSUMED ROOF FRAMING—Per previous structural calcs by URS dated 4.17.96,the existing roof structure utilizes 5 1/8 x 16.5" GluLam beams below sectors A and G and 5 1/8 x 13.5" GluLam beams below sector B. It is assumed that the roof framing below the antenna frame matches the roof framing noted. The new antenna configuration is well distributed and results in negligible increase in load. • VERIFIED ANTENNA SUPPORT- Existing antenna support sled frame is constructed with steel angles with bolted antenna t pipe connections at all points. Antenna sled frames are well constructed with cross bracing and can support the minor additional appurtenance loading. • VERIFIED BOLTED STEEL PIPE MOUNTS-ASTM A53 Gr. B steel (35 ksi) • VERIFIED EQUIPMENT SUPPORT PLATFORM—Steel WF platform mounted to existing slab on grade foundation below. Contractor to remove all debris around platform and verify condition of platform base. Further assumptions made for completion of this report: • The structure and its foundations were constructed as shown in the original design documents, previous structural analysis reports, mapping report, photos, and/or other documents not provided. • The structure, platforms, and foundations are in good condition with no corrosion, damage or fatiguing which could cause a reduced capacity in any member. • The legal occupancy of the building has not been deemed inadequate for use and is in compliance with current code requirements. All ASSUMED items listed above were made in order to complete the analysis of the structure. All noted assumptions must be checked. If any assumptions are found to be inaccurate, a licensed engineer should be contacted for re-evaluation. CONCLUSION: Based on our review of the referenced plans and visual inspection of site photos provided, we have concluded that the existing structure is in satisfactory compliance and will support the proposed loads as noted on the architectural modification plans prepared by TRK Engineering LTD. (TRK). A licensed contractor experienced in telecommunication site installations should be hired to perform all modifications. All aspects of construction and installation are the sole responsibility of the contractor. The contractor shall notify a licensed engineer for re-evaluation if any assumptions or verified items noted in this report are found to be inaccurate. The opinions presented in this report are based on a visual appraisal of the above ground structural elements at the subject site and is intended for the exclusive use of Sprint and supporting parties. No soil investigation, destructive testing, or precision measurements have been conducted, nor were they requested at the time of the inspection. No warranty or guarantee is either expressed or implied by the professional services performed, including the written reports of findings, except that engineering services have been performed in accordance with that level of care and skill ordinarily exercised by members of this profession currently practicing under similar conditions and in the same locality.
