WHEREAS, John Koster was sworn in as a Snohomish County Councilmember t,*.
represent the I't District, including the City of Arlington, in January of it and
WHEREAS, John Koster has served the citizens of northern Snohomish County for the
past 12 years as County Councilman; and

WHEREAS, John previously served the citizens of the state of Washington for three
terms in the Washington State House of Representatives and in organizations like the Puget
Sound Regional Council (PSRC); the Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC), of

being a graduate of Arlington High School and Everett Community College, and having served
as the Board President of Arlington Christian School; and
WHEREAS, the Arlington City Council seeks to publicly recognize the commitment and
dedication of John Koster, whose service to the citizens of Snohomish County as an elected
official over a term of 12 years enhanced the County's initiatives and accomplishments through
his leadership, direct communication, and ability to forge strategic alliances for the improvement
of county government;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARLINGTON, that the Arlington City Council hereby recognizes the service of John Koster and
the benefit that service has brought to the citizens of Arlington; and
