Examples are installations or alterations of gas piping, replacement of furnaces: installation or replacement of gas fireplaces: installation of gas logs in an existing wood-burning fireplace: and replacement or installation of gas space heaters and gas water heaters. The City of Arlington does not require a permit to replace an existing gas clothes dryer, stovetop ranges, ovens, or gas log if there is no gas piping installed or altered.
