OVERVIEW OF INSTALLATION TO OPERATION
• Familiarize yourself with this Owner's Manual and the Safety Notices located in this manual, and posted on the stove.
• Remove and unpack the following components from beneath the stove:
5 logs, grille, and brick set on back.
• Unbolt heater from the pallet.
• Remove front by loosening the thumbscrew bolt located underneath the ashlip. Lift up on the top of the front gently
pulling out on the bottom. Set aside in a safe location. Remove the glass door by lifting and pulling the latches on the
top of glass frame towards you and separate latches from notches. Lift the glass out of the three notches at its base
and carefully set aside.
Convert to horizontal/rear venting if necessary for your installation plans.
• Convert to LP if necessary.(Use conversion kit included with appliance).
• Install blower if purchased.
• Finalize your installation decisions and requirements:
• Refer to Dimensions on page 7.
• Refer to Clearances to Combustibles on page 7.
• Refer to Horizontal termination requirements on page 22-23.
• Refer to Vertical termination requirements on pages 26-32.
• Refer to Vent Kits pertinent to your installation on page 42.
Contact your local building inspector for code requirements in your area.
• Set unit in place and install venting per your installation requirements.
• Install log set. See instructions on page 14 of this manual.
• Run thermostat lines to the TH&TPTH terminals on the valve, if applicable,see page 16.
• Connect the gas line. See page 33.
• Leak test gas line to manual shut-off valve. See page 34.
• Plug in blower, if applicable.
• NOTE: If you are using any accessories with gold it is IMPORTANT TO CLEAN THE GOLD FINISH, using a glass
cleaner and non-abrasive towel, prior to the initial burn of the unit. This prevents fingerprint oils from staining the gold.
After heater has been burned,the gold finish will cure and fingerprint oils will no longer cause staining.
• Follow Lighting Instructions, page 35, a copy of which is also attached on a chain to the rear of stove,to light the stove.
• Re-attach glass and door.
• After allowing pilot to run for 15 minutes, adjust gas control knob to"ON" (Following Lighting Instructions).
• Check flames. See diagram on page 34.
• Adjust shutter position, if necessary. See page 36.
• Set thermostat or-turn control panel switch to the"ON"position. See page 38.
• Familiarize yourself with the maintenance requirements of the stove. See pages 38-39.
• Familiarize yourself with the Troubleshooting section of this manual, pages 41.
