WHEREAS, the City of Arlington Fire Department provides emergency medical services
to Arlington citizens, businesses, and visitors; and
WHEREAS, to provide Advanced Life Support services, the Arlington Fire Department
needs to have LifePak 15 EKG defibrillators available and in top condition; and
WHEREAS PhysioControl, Inc. is the sole representative authorized to sell LifePak 15
EKG defibrillator machines and components in the United States; and
WHEREAS, RC W 35.23.352(9) permits the waiving of bidding requirements for the
purchase of materials which are clearly and legitimately limited to a single source of supply or
services which are subject to special market conditions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arlington,
as follows:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Arlington hereby finds that its
equipment needs are clearly and legitimately limited to a single source of supply
and therefore waives the biddin re•uirements for the %urchase--xf4W-%W,
EKG Machines from PhysioControl.
Section 2: This resolution will be effective for three (3) years from the date of
adoption.
