A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARLINGTON, WASHINGTON
HONORING THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF
ARLINGTON CITY COUNCIL MEMBER SCOTT SOLLA
WHEREAS, Robert Scott ("Scott") Solla served the City of Arlington as a City Council
member from May 1, 2006 to September 3, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Scott served as a member of the City of Arlington Planning Commission
from December 5, 2005 until April 30, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Scott contributed to the character of Arlington in countless ways, including
his work with the Downtown Business Association and the Red Rooster Route farms to promote
the unique character of the greater Arlington community; and
WHEREAS, Scott believed his sole job as a Council member was to serve the Arlington
community he so loved and in that vein he spent many hours lending his creative energy and
thoughtful ideas to furthering the vision of the Arlington community; and
WHEREAS, Scott also served the community through his active participation in the
Kiwanis Club of Arlington and the Highland View Estates Homeowners Association, lending his
enthusiasm, positive energy and thoughtful ideas; and
WHEREAS, Scott was a giver in a community of givers, believing that everyone could
have an impact just by sharing of their time and their talents; and
WHEREAS, Scott will be truly missed by his fellow council members, Arlington
citizens, Arlington business owners, and the employees of the City of Arlington.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the City of
Arlington, Washington that we hereby honor the life and legacy of
SCOTT SOLLA
for his outstanding service to the people of Arlington and his willingness to serve the community
as an elected leader; and we further resolve that Arlington is a better place because of Scott.
We ask that the greater Arlington community honor the memory of Council member
Scott Solla by making Arlington a better place to live for future generations.
We further extend our condolences to Scott's family and friends and ask that the greater
Arlington community keep the Solla family in their thoughts during this sorrowful time.
