A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARLINGTON TO INCREASE PROPERTY TAX LEVY
RATES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arlington has met and considered its budget for
the calendar year 2010; and
WHEREAS, the City's actual levy amount from the previous year was $2,239,628 for regular
property taxes and $ 888,659 for EMS property taxes.
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Arlington is more than 10,000, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arlington after hearing and after duly considering
all relevant evidence and testimony, determined that the City of Arlington requires a regular
property tax levy in the amount of$ 2,314,086, and an EMS tax levy in the amount of$ 918,241,
which includes an increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, and amounts resulting
from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value
of state-assessed property, and amounts authorized by law as a result of any annexations that have
occurred and refunds made, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the
City and in its best interest; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arlington
Section 1. That an increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the 2010
levy in the amount of$ 22,376, which is a percentage increase of 1% from the previous year.
Section 2. That an increase in the EMS property tax levy is hereby authorized for the 2010
levy in the amount of $ 8,887, which is a percentage increase of 1% from the previous year.
Section 3. These increases are exclusive of additional revenue resulting from the addition of
new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed
property, and any additional amounts resulting from any annexations that have occurred and
refunds made.
PASSED and APPROVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Arlington, at a
regular meeting held on the 16th day of November, 2009.

RATES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arlington attest that the population of the City of
Arlington is more than ten thousand; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arlington has properly given notice of the public hearing held on
November 2, 2009 to consider the City of Arlington general government budget for the 2010
calendar year, and
WHEREAS, the City of Arlington, after hearing, and after duly considering all relevant
evidence and testimony presented, has determined that, due to general maintenance and operation
expenses, the City Council finds that there is a substantial need to set the levy limit at one hundred
one percent for both the City of Arlington Regular Levy and the City of Arlington EMS levy.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Arlington
Section 1. The total amount levied for 2010 regular property taxes is $ 2,314,086.
Section 2. The total amount levied for 2010 EMS tax is $ 918,241.
