The AIR STATION Flying Museum mow.- ,, "Education Through Preservation" March 10, 2004 Dear Sirs; This is a request for a permit to reinstall an FAA certified windsock in the previous location as installed in 1943. Presently,the existing hangar is 35 feet. Our request is for a 10-foot high windsock pole on top of the hangar. In addition to the 10 foot pole there will be a windsock whose loop or ring is 3 feet,making the overall height from the ground 48 feet, This installation will meet all structural and wind load codes and is FAA certified. The windsock will be installed with a 21/2-inch I/4 inch thick steel pole;welded onto a '/4 inch plate. It will be bolted to the existing windsock platform. As stated previously,this is a reinstallation of a windsock in its original location of which the city should have information. We would appreciate your expediting this approval.
