This building Jfcoiiimon design elements and a finishes as all of the portables under type A in the Ar gton School District. Therefore•tfie samples from one portable to another(with the same e.tter t ould be the same homogeneous area. The portable is constructed with wood framing, T1-I I siding, stopped in windows and paneling on the interior walls. The portable is heated by a unit ventilator, electric heat. The roof is a pitched framed roof with a three-tab roofing system. There is carpet over wood on the floor with dark brown base cove adhesive. There is 1 x 2 ceiling tile that has been stapled up. This building utilizes a post and ` concrete pad system for the foundation. INSPECTION RESULTS AHERA, Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency and Labor& Industries (WISHA) regulations require an inspection of all buildings for the presence of asbestos containing materials prior to renovation and demolition. Asbestos containing materials are defined as those building materials containing one percent or more of asbestos as verified by laboratory analysis. All building materials built prior to 1980 are assumed to contain asbestos unless proven otherwise by a licensed building inspector. Asbestos containing materials are sub-divided into three types: surfacing materials, thermal system insulation, and miscellaneous materials. Surfacing materials are divided as those materials that are sprayed-on, troweled-on or otherwise applied to surfaces including, but not limited to, acoustical plaster on ceiling, paints, fireproofing materials on structural members or other materials on surfaces for decorative purposes. Thermal system insulation means material applied to pipes, fittings, boilers, tanks, ducts, or other structural components to prevent heat loss or gain. All other materials are considered to be miscellaneous materials. Asbestos materials are further classified into two categories; friable and non-friable.
