5. Area separation wall should be 2-hour and should extend from the founda-
tion to a point 30" above the roof. Section 505(e)3 Exception given in
505(e)3 exc. 3 permits omission of the parapet if the roof construction is
of entirely non-combustible materials. Details show combustible material in
the roof construction.
6. Parapets of area separation walls should have non-combustible faces for
the uppermost 18 inches. Section 505(e)4
7. Toilet rooms should have a minimum of a 5" base of a smooth, hard,
non-absorbent material. Walls within toilet compartments should be similarly
finished to a height of 4 feet. Section 510(b)
8. The toilets in each unit should both be handicapped and designated for
each sex, or both toilet rooms in each unit should be indicated as bi-sexual.

9. Three inch high address numbers should be provided on the building.
Section 513.
10. Toilet rooms should have ventilation exhausted to the exterior in separate
shafts. Section 705 and Uniform Mechanical, Code.
11. Submit listed approval values of the screws into metal members and wood
members.
12. Lateral support should be provided for 2 X 12 roof joists at supports
and at 8' o.c. maximum. Section 2506(h)
13. Foundation plates should be 6 inches above the adjacent finish grade.
Section 2907(a)
14. Calculations should be submitted for the foundation plate bolt requirements.
Details of the bolt spacing and size should be included on the drawings.
15. Roof covering should be fire retardant. Section 3202(b) Note roofing
material on drawings.
16. A floor or landing not more than 1/2" below the threshold should be
provided on either side of the doors. Section 3304(h)
17. Glass in doors should be impact resistant. Section 5406
18. Provide one handicapped parking space located to allow access to the
accessible units of travel from parking space without entering a vehicular
roadway, or a marked walkway is provided.
19. Provide energy calculations complying with Chapter 4 of the Washington
State Energy Code prepared and stamped by an engineer registered in the state
of Washington.
20. The submitted structural calculations are by two different registered
engineers, which creates a problem of liability. Only one stamp should be
accepted. Have the engineers decide who is responsible.
