Where the riser is located there is minimal room considering the back entry door location and the adjoining hallway. If you do not require the sprinkler protection of the exterior cooler and freezer, because they are exterior, then we can install a wet system. Yes, we can install dry sidewall sprinklers to protect the cooler and freezer but the dry sidewall sprinklers will be above shelves of the cooler and freezer and these will be subjected to damage. This is such a small building, these are the reasons for installing just a dry system. As far as the "PVC", I reviewed our drawing as submitted and can't see the "PVC" label on the drawing. The hydraulic calculations show we are also using c value of 100 indicating black pipe for use on a dry system.American Sprinkler Corp. has no intent of using"PVC" pipe and/or fittings anywhere on this fire sprinkler system. Please let me know, if the general contractor and or tenant will need to make different provisions for the adequate fire sprinkler coverage. Or if these plans will get approved as submitted. This provides sprinkler operation approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers. While the Quick Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically ' ' 'V ' pleasing appearance, it can be installed wherever standard spray sprinklers are specified when allowed by the applicable standards. It offers the additional feature of greatly increased safety to life and _ is available in various styles, orifices, temperature ratings and finishes to meet many varying design requirements. Quick QUICK RESPONSE Response Sprinklers should be used advisedly and under the UPRIGHT CONVENTIONAL direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction. The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that a contains a precisely measured amount of fluid. When heat is ' . absorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the internal pressure. At the prescribed temperature the internal pressure within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the glass to shatter. This results in water discharge which is distributed in an approved pattern depending upon the deflector style used. BULLETIN GL5615,REV.#9 I QUICK RESPONSE AUTOMATIC SPRINKLERS i . g' GL SERIES __._ rrr "VI Pl FIRE SPRINKLER CORPORATION RECESSED PENDENT RECESSED HORIZONTAL SIDEWALL DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION The Globe Quick Response GL Series Sprinkler is a low profile yet durable design which utilizes a 3mm frangible glass ampule asthe thermosensitive element. This provides sprinkler operation - -` approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers. While the ` 1. Quick Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance, it can be installed wherever standard spray sprinklers are specified but offers the additional feature of greatly increased safetyto life. Quick Response Sprinklers should be used advisedly QUICK RESPONSE and underthe direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction. RECESSED PENDENT The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that contains a precisely measured amount of fluid. When heat is absorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the internal pressure. At the prescribed temperature the internal pressure • 4 y within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the glass to shatter. This results in water discharge which is distributed E' r in an approved pattern depending upon the deflector style used. The sprinkler and escutcheon are not factory assembled. Assembly is done in the field. QUICK RESPONSE TECHNICAL DATA RECESSED See reverse side for Approvals and Specifications. This provides sprinkler operation approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers. While the Quick Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance, it can be installed wherever standard spray sprinklers are specified when allowed by the applicable standards. It offers the additional feature of greatly increased safety to life and is available in various styles, orifices, temperature ratings and finishes to meet many varying design requirements. Quick QUICK RESPONSE Response Sprinklers should be used advisedly and under the UPRIGHT CONVENTIONAL direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction. The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that = contains a precisely measured amount of fluid. When heat is absorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the internal pressure. At the prescribed temperature the internal pressure within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the glass to shatter. This results in water discharge which is distributed _ in an approved pattern depending upon the deflector style used. BULLETIN GL5615,REV.#9 QUICK RESPOi SE AUTOMATIC SPRINKLERS WIMMN qao GL SERIES RECESSED PENDENT FIRE SPRINKLER CORPORATION RECESSED HORIZONTAL SIDEWALL DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION The Globe Quick Response GL Series Sprinkler is a low profile -- yet durable design which utilizes a 3mm frangible glass ampule as the thermosensitive element. This provides sprinkler operation ` . approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers. While the Quick Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance, it can be installed wherever standard spray sprinklers are specified but offers the additional feature of greatly increased safety to life. Quick Response Sprinklers should be used advisedly (QUICK RESPONSE and underthe direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction. RECESSED PENDENT The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that contains a precisely measured amount of fluid. When heat is ` absorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the internal pressure. At the prescribed temperature the internal pressure within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the , ` glass to shatter. This results in waterdischarge which is distributed in an approved pattern depending upon the deflector style used. The sprinkler and escutcheon are not factory assembled. Assembly is done in the field. QUICK RESPONSE TECHNICAL DATA RECESSED See reverse side for Approvals and Specifications. The device should not be installed within 6" (15 cm)of a fitting which changes the direction of the waterflow or within 24" (60 cm) of a valve or drain. NOTE:Do not leave cover off for an extended period of time. Drain the system and drill a hole in the pipe using a hole saw in a slow speed drill (see Fig. 1). Clean the inside pipe of all growth or other material for a distance equal to the pipe diameter on either side of the hole. Roll the vane so that it may be inserted into the hole; do not bend or crease it. Insert the vane so that the arrow on the saddle points in the direction of the waterflow.Take care not to damage the non-corrosive bushing in the saddle. The bushing should fit inside the hole in the pipe. Install the saddle strap and tighten nuts alternately to required torque (see the chart in Fig. 1).The vane must not rub the inside of the pipe or bind in any way.
