Project: 12 ft wide rear deck roof at the above address
The lateral and vertical loads were analyzed for the subject building addition according to the
requirements of the 2012 International Building Code(ASCE 7-10). The following design
conditions for the analysis are based on the site conditions or according to the minimum code
requirements:
Roof Snow load: 25 PSF
Floor: Pavers or Slab-on-grade
Roof type/weight: composistion/8 PSF
Basic wind Speed: 110 MPH
Wind Exposure/Importance: B/Iw=1.0
Seismic Site Class: D
Soil Bearing capacity: 2,000 PSF
Lateral loads can be fully braced to the home with continuous sheathing fully nailed to the
framing and the ledger along the edge of the roof. This only adds a total of about 400 lbs lateral
seismic loading to the home, which the existing home shear walls are more than adequate to
support. 12" square footings can be precast purchased deck-pads,placed at ten foot spacing.
