These permits are issued separately. Mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or fire sprinkler/alarm permits require a separate permit application and may also require separate plan review. Please note that any tenant improvement work in a space that involves food handling or preparation requires Snohomish County Health District approval before the permit can be issued. Attached 2 drawings. Questions: Do we need 5 foot landings on both ends of the slope?Yes, on the top landing, and there must be a 60" radius circle inside of the handrail/guardrail. See attached for details on the bottom landing. Do we need handrails on both sides of the ramp?Yes,and there must be 44" clearance between the handrails—see attached. Is 36 inches wide the correct width (not including the 5ft radius landings)Yes, for interior width between the two handrails. For the concrete pour-can we do a monolithic pour like in the drawing?Yes, but the exterior foundation wall of the ramp must have a 12"W x 6"H footing.The interior forms for the footing and foundation should be pressure treated as they will not be removable once poured. How thick does the exterior wall of the ramp need to be?The exterior foundation wall must be 6"thick. What are the requirements for rebar? Footing rebar requirement is 1#4 bar. Foundation requirements are#4 bar ran vertically 4 feet on center, 1#4 bar ran horizontally 4" below the top of the foundation wall, and 1#4 bar ran horizontally 4" above the top of the footing. On the slope of the ramp the requirements are 2#4 bar ran down the slope of the ramp 14"—15"on center, and across the slope of the ramp#4 bar 2' on center. Please note that the landings must be flat and can't be included in the overall slope of the ramp. The rebar that extends from the existing side wall to the landings and ramp must be epoxied into existing wall.
