CITY OF ARLINGTON
WATER DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM
TO: Glenn Rengen
FROM: Karen Latimer IV-,
DATE: November 12, 1998
SUBJ: Initial Cross Connection Control Review
Building Permit #98-3312
1 have completed my review of the drawings submitted with building permit#98-3312.
Listed below are my comments.
1. What size of water meter is required?
2. Will this structure be connected to the city's sanitary sewer system?
3. Complete and return the Cross-Connection Survey and Industrial/Commercial
Waste Discharge Permit Application (attached).
4. A Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA) is required after the water meter,
before the first point of use. Install per city standard W-13.
After the DCVA has been installed it must be tested by a state certified Backflow
Assembly Tester (at the owner's expense), and be inspected by the water
department. Provide a minimum 24 hour notice when calling for inspection.
5. Water and sewer fees for one (1) Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) must be
paid before the water meter will be installed and a side sewer inspection will be
completed. Fees will be calculated after the water meter size is provided.
Water and sewer fees will be assessed for future construction at the time of
applying for a building permit.
After I receive the requested information I will complete a final review and notify you of
any additional cross-connection control requirements, and total water/sewer fees due.
can be contacted at (360) 435-3811 if you have any questions.
