This message is from an External Sender
This message came from outside the City of Arlington
Hey Kristin,
Sorry for the delay I was trying to answer all questions with one response.
1. We are planning on having a total of (5) 10’ x 20’ easy up tents ( We own them, they are not
rented)
2. I’ve placed a map for the public parking below. We received permission from Monroe (Airport
Operations Manager) to utilize their parking. This is the only offsite parking and the plan is to have
a crossing guard stationed there for the duration of the event.
3. Our Coffee Vendor ( Whitehouse Espresso) stated that she is expecting her sales to be less than
$1,000.00 and therefore a city license is not required. I will post their business license below.
Our second food truck is Dicks Burger and they would like a contact to reach out to about
licenses. Can you help me point them in the right direction?
Please let me know if you need any additional information at all. Hoping to have the permit for
this event by the end of this week if at all possible.
Thank you so much!

Good afternoon,
We are currently reviewing the Operating permit and do have a couple of questions and/or comments.
1. Please confirm if tents will be utilized for the event. If so, please
2. Please provide where visitor parking will be located and if offsite how they will get to the site such
as the use of shuttles or by foot.
We also want to mention that you’ll want to be sure that the food vendors are properly licensed with the
Health Department and that they have their city of Arlington business license as well.
Reach out with any questions.
Thank you,

comply with this policy will result in legal action, ï¬nes, and/or removal
of the structure from the event site.
POLICY:
A. A tent or canopy up to 20'X20' must be weighted down
utilizing 40-pound weights on each leg of the tent:
a. The weight must be suspended from the top corner
of the tent and secured to each leg of the tent with rachet strap
or similar tie down, no bungee cords.
b. The weight must be self-contained and permanently
sealed. It must be capable of being suspended.
1. Please see Exhibit A for allowable weights.
2. EXCEPTION: Approved sandbags or weight plates
designed by the manufacturer, are allowed.
c. Items not allowed include but are not limited to:
1. containers of water, (open or sealed)
2. bags of sand (not designed by the tent/canopy
manufacturer)
3. bricks, cinder-blocks, rocks
4. gym type weights
5. stakes, etc.
d. Tents and canopies shall not be tethered to a fence, light post, bench,
trash can, or other ï¬xed object. The tent or canopy shall be self-weighted
and shall not rely on outside objects for securement.
What is Allowed:
PVC Pipe Filled with Concrete or Similar EZ-Upâ„¢ Sand Bags or Other Manufactured
Manufactured Weights Weights
4 -5 le (40 pounds per leg=)
The PVC pipe filled with cement hangs on the inside
of the canopy pole, and it has soft edges and the ability
to move, just in case someone still manages to collide
with it.
Instructions
1. Use a 5-inch PVC pipe cut 30 inches long,
purchase two end caps for each section along
with a long eye hook.
2. Drill a hole in one of the ends to allow the bolt
end of the eyehook to go through it.
3. Using an adhesive for PVC pipe, seal one end.
4. Fill the tubes with the bags of Quickcreteâ„¢.
5. Add water to the pipes (The moisture will set the
QuickcreteTM).
6. Secure the end cap with the hole, again using
adhesive, and stick the bolt end of the eyehook
through the hole making sure it inserts into the
Quickcreteâ„¢.
7. Stand the pipe up to allow curing.
8. Use tie-down straps or bungees with hooks on
both ends that allow you to adjust the height for
your weights. This keeps the weight tension tight.
