The submitted drawings have been examined as far as possible for compliance
with the 1985 Edition of the Uniform Building Code. The following items
should be corrected before the permit is issued, with two corrected sets of
drawings being submitted:
1.{ You should ensure that the city agencies such as Planning, Zoning, Public
Works and the Fire Depar-tment approve of the project.
Two layers of 5/8" type X GWB are required on the ceiling of the garage.
The 5/8" type X GWB on the walls should extend to ceiling above and should be
on all walls. The column and beam should be wrapped with 5/8" type X GWB.
This includes the wall at the garage doors and the headers. The two layers
on the ceiling include both on the trusses and on the 2" X 12"s. Sec. 503(d)3
The garage door to the recreation room should be 1-3/8" thick. Sec. 503(d)3
The water heater should have seismic tie-downs. Sec. 504 U.M.C.
The garage should have a non-combustible floor surface. Sec. 1105
Street address numbers visible and legible from the street should be
noted on the drawings. Sec. 513

provided to ensure against uplift. The connections should be attached to
both sides of the beam and post and the posts should be anchored to the footing,
