Newberry St., Arlington, WA 98223 We propose to install a new gravel driveway measuring 20 feet and width by 33 feet in length, located in the rear yard area with access off of Gilman Street. It will be 2.5 ft away from the neighboring fence located to each of the property. This area will be excavated to depth of 4 inches below the existing sidewalk elevation to allow for proper base and surface material layers 1. Excavation- Removal of existing topsoil and level the site to the depth of 4 inches from the sidewalk back 2. Base insulation- install 2 inches of crushed gravel to create a stable drainage supporting subbase 3. Weed prevention and stabilization- fill the stabilizer grid with grout-grade crushed gravel, insurance compaction throughout 4. Type 1 Driveway Approach per R-220. • Driveways shall be impervious surface (concrete and/or asphalt) and utilize LID drainage when feasible. (AMC20.48.044.A.3) • No gravel allowable pursuant to AMC 20.72.060 Parking Area Surfaces. (a) All parking areas shall be graded and surfaced with asphalt, concrete or other material that will provide equivalent protection against potholes, erosion and dust. • Refer to asphalt patch detail for saw cutting and patching for driveway installation, ROW inspection after installed. • See Arlington Design and Construction Standards and Specifications, Chapters 2- 3.09 and 2-20 for additional requirements.
