ADJOURNMENT Mayor Barb Tolbert To open all attachments, click here Arlington City Council Workshop Monday, August 8, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. City Council Chambers – 110 E Third St City of Arlington Council Agenda Bill Item: WS #1 Attachment A COUNCIL MEETING DATE: August 8, 2016 SUBJECT: Interlocal Agreement for the Snohomish Regional Drug & Gang Task Force for 2016-17 ATTACHMENTS: Draft Interlocal Agreement DEPARTMENT OF ORIGIN Police; Jonathan Ventura 360-403-4621 EXPENDITURES REQUESTED: $6,148 BUDGET CATEGORY: General Fund - Police LEGAL REVIEW: DESCRIPTION: The attached Interlocal Agreement is a renewal agreement for participating in the Snohomish Regional Drug & Gang Task Force (SRDGTF) for 2016-17. The term of the Interlocal is July 1, 2016-September 30, 2017. The amount is slightly higher than last year ($4,848) because the term of the agreement changed from July-June to July-September. The Interlocal Agreement allows participating jurisdictions to jointly coordinate selected law enforcement activities, resources, and functions in order to disrupt illegal drug trafficking systems and to remove drug traffickers through a cooperative program of investigation, prosecution, and asset forfeiture. HISTORY: The City has been a longtime participant in the Task Force. ALTERNATIVES Not act as a participating jurisdiction with the Task Force. RECOMMENDED MOTION: Workshop; discussion only. The 1998 Spartan Fire Engine has reached the end of its useful life for the Arlington Fire Department. HISTORY: New fire apparatus was placed into full service in June 2016. ALTERNATIVES Do not surplus equipment Remand to staff for further consideration RECOMMENDED MOTION: Workshop; discussion only. At the August 15, 2016 council meeting, the proposed motion will be “I move to approve the resolution declaring the 1998 Spartan Fire Engine as surplus, and authorize the Mayor to sign the resolution. “ RESOLUTION NO. 2016-xxx RESOLUTION NO. 2016-xxx A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ARLINGTON DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING ITS SALE WHEREAS, the City has purchased the equipment listed on the attached Exhibit “A”; and WHEREAS, the equipment identified on Exhibit “A” is surplus to the needs of the City; and NOW, THEREFORE, the City of Arlington, acting by and through its City Council, does hereby resolve as follows: 1. The equipment/property described on the attached Exhibit “A” is declared surplus to the needs of the City. 2. Staff is instructed to trade in all items for the best available price, sell all items for the best available price or properly dispose of items that it is unable to sell. Staff is further authorized to dispose of the property via an intergovernmental transfer pursuant to RCW 39.33.010.
