A RESOLUTION DECLARING
CERTAIN PROPERTY AS SURPLUS
WHEREAS, the Arlington Municipal Airport is the owner of buildings commonly known as
Building 57B, located at 19128A - 59" Dr. NE, Arlington, WA; and the Fiberglass Structures
building located at 19319 63rd Ave NE, Arlington, WA 98223;
WHEREAS, the City believes substantial improvements will be required in the near
future which will drain City resources; and
WHEREAS, the cost of renovating the buildings and bringing them up to current code is
so great that based upon an appraisal and consideration of comparable hangar leases, the Airport
Commission has determined that renovating the buildings is not economically feasible; and
WHEREAS,the City Airport Commission has recommended the buildings be declared as
surplus; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems the most economical approach is to sell the
building(s) in their present condition to a private buyer willing to improve the buildings;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arlington Washington do hereby
resolve as follows:
1. The City Council finds the buildings known as Building 57B, located at 19128 A
59th Dr. NE, Arlington, WA, Arlington, WA, and the former Fiberglass
Structures Building, located at 19319 63rd Ave. NE, Arlington WA,to be surplus
to the City's needs.
2. Pursuant to AMC 3.70.020, the buildings may be disposed of pursuant to a
Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
