A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARLINGTON,WASHINGTON
ADOPTING A"STAY OUT OF DESIGNATED AREA (SODA)" ZONE FOR THE CITY OF
ARLINGTON
WHEREAS, the City of Arlington,Washington has the authority to enact laws
to protect citizens and visitors to the City; and
WHEREAS,the City Council believes it is in the best interests of its citizens to
designate a "Stay Out of Designated Area" (SODA) zone,to provide additional tools
to law enforcement and the courts to protect the citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has considered the evidence provided by the
Arlington Police Department concerning areas of significant drug-related criminal
activity; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems adoption of a "Stay Out of Designated
Area" (SODA) zone to be in the best interests of the citizens; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARLINGTON,WASHINGTON, DO
HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. The map attached hereto as "Exhibit A" is hereby adopted as the
Official "Stay Out of Designated Area" (SODA) zone for the City of Arlington.
PASSED at a regular meeting of the City of Arlington,Washington held on the
7th day of August, 2017.
