Audit Exit Conference

Councilmembers Present: Mike Hopson, Jan Schuette, Marilyn Oertle, and Debora Nelson.
Council Members Absent: Sue Weiss, Joshua Roundy, and Jesica Stickles.
Staff Present: Mayor Barb Tolbert, Paul Ellis, James Trefry, Kristin Garcia, Sheri Amundson,
and Wendy Van Der Meersche.
Also Known to be Present: Assistant Audit Manager Courtney Amonsen, Audit Lead Dalton
Nield, State Auditor's Office staff member Brian, and Don Vanney.
The Audit Exit Conference was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
DISCUSSION
Annual State Audit Exit Conference
Assistant Audit Manager Courtney Amonsen introduced herself, Audit Lead Dalton Nield, and
Brian, who was present to observe an exit conference.
Packets were distributed to attendees, with Ms. Amonsen beginning a review of the Exit
Conference agenda.
Ms. Amonsen stated that with audit now complete, the auditors will publish two reports for
January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018; an accountability audit and financial statement
and federal grant compliance audit.
Ms. Amonsen explained that city will be receiving an unmodified opinion on its financial
statements, which means that the financial statements are fairly stated with no
misstatements. She further commented that there were no issues of noncompliance for the
federal grant compliance audit.
Ms. Amonsen stated that the City maintained well -organized records which helped the audit
run smoothly and efficiently.
Mr. Nield then spoke of the accountability audit report and explained the areas examined
during the audit which included payroll, system conversion, restricted funds, utility billing,
accounts payable, and financial condition. He indicated there were no major items.
ADJOURNMENT
With no further business to be conducted, the Audit Exit Conference was adjourned at 9:17
a.m.
